If the signal is stronger (less negative RSSI), then the device is less than one meter away. If the signal is weaker (more negative RSSI), then the device is over one meter away. Abstract Knowledge of sensor node 3D location in a sensor network is more important, because many practical applications needs to know the location of sensor data source. This report presents three new technique for finding indoor 3D location of a sensor node by using Received Signal Strength Indication (RSSI).

I would like to use RSSI to determine the distance between these two modules but for some reason: - Between 0 and 0.5m: the RSSI is decreasing quickly from -65 to - 100 ,which is accurate. - Between 0.5 and 1 meter: the RSSI start increasing again ( -100 to -77) , which is not what I expected.

By default the library will cease operation when a failure is detected. This should allow advanced users to detect and resolve intermittent hardware issues. In most cases, the radio must be re-enabled via radio.begin(); and the appropriate settings applied after a failure occurs, if wanting to re-enable the device immediately.
